EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Carlsbad High School Marching Band was looking for a voice and metronome amplification system that could be used during marching band practice on the field, in the gymnasium, or in the classroom. They ended up learning about, using, then falling in love with the MegaVox public address system as it provided the amplification and power they needed, plus so much more - forever changing the way rehearsals were run.

ABOUT CARLSBAD HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND

The choral, orchestra, and band programs at CHS strive to offer fulfilling educational experiences for students. In addition to providing a creative outlet for self-expression, these performance-based classes also help students learn valuable lessons that can be applied throughout the course of their lives. With all of the CHS band groups combined, they put on about 40 performances a year. The band continuously receives high ratings at both local and national competitions. In April 2017, the Wind Ensemble won Grand Champions at the Festival of Music Competition in Chicago, IL.

HOW THE MEGAVOX PA SYSTEM HELPED CHS MARCHING BAND

Multi-tasking during practices was nothing out of the norm for Peter Manzi, the Director of Bands at Carlsbad High School. Keeping a steady tempo, giving feedback and worrying about being heard by all students were a daily part of practice. By using the MegaVox, we are able to wirelessly connect both our Dr. Beat, as well as the headset mic, so I can run a metronome, while continuing to give feedback to our students.”

The wireless range of the MegaVox allows Manzi to direct from down on the field or up in the stands, while also freeing up extra staff who would normally have to run the metronome.

Not only is he able to direct from different positions on the field and stands, but Manzi adds that "the MegaVox allows me to free up my hands and have one on one contact with my students. Everybody can hear all of the time."

RESULTS & REVIEW

The Anchor Audio MegaVox PA system has forever changed the way Peter Manzi runs his marching band rehearsals at Carlsbad High School, and he will never look back.
